Passenger ro-ro ship PATRIA SEAWAYS collided with bulk carrier YASA PIONEER in Marmara sea some 6 nm south of Yasa island, early in the morning Sep 17, according to ships’ tracks. PATRIA SEAWAYS was under way, shortly after she left Tuzla (understood undergoing repairs), bound for Trieste. Both ships were taken to Ahirkapi anchorage, anchored, and as of 1200 UTC Sep 17, remained in the same position. PATRIA SEAWAYSportside superstructure was damaged, YASA PIONEER sustained big hull dent, maybe breach, in cargo holds area.
