Barge with Russian generators for nuclear plant on rocks, listed, India

Barge loaded with two 300-ton steam generators for reactors 5 and 6 of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant, broke off tow line of tug RESCO 5 in the morning Sep 6, and grounded on coastal rocks near destination, Kudankulam cargo terminal. Generators arrived from Russia to Tuticorin India, to be transported by barges. Barge or pontoon, developed heavy list, there is danger of both generators slipping overboard. As of evening Sep 9, there are no updates on barge and generators condition, no news on salvage works. It was said earlier, that authorities wait for weather improvement and high water, to refloat barge and move her to Kudankulam.
