French bulk carrier disabled, adrift off North Island, New Zealand

Bulk carrier LA RICHARDAIS was disabled off western coast of North Island, New Zealand, while en route from Newcastle Australia to New Plymouth New Zealand, and started to drift towards island’s coast. According to ship’s track, she was disabled and adrift since around 0000 UTC May 20, was taken on tow early May 23 by offshore tug SCANDI EMERALD (IMO 9447639), to be towed to New Plymouth (Taranaki).
