Cargo ship ran onto embankment, detained, Brunsbuettel

General cargo ship NEWTON contacted embankment in Brunsbuettel near locks, shortly after passing lock and entering Kiel Canal, in the afternoon Mar 14, because of reportedly, steering failure. The ship managed to go off embankment by own means, she was berthed at Brunsbuettel for survey. As of 1500 UTC Mar 15, NEWTON was still berthed at Brunsbuettel. She’s en route from Brake Germany to Ronne, Bornholm, Baltic sea.
