Mass poisoning on board of Iranian freighter, Caspian sea

Mass poisoning accident took place on board of Iranian general cargo ship NAZMEHR, loaded with grain, on Oct 19, reported regional media and Azerbaijan officials. 12 crew were poisoned, allegedly, by gas emitted by fumigated grain, during ship’s voyage from Kazakhstan port Aktau to Baku, Azerbaijan, Caspian sea. 3 crew died, 8 were hospitalized, Captain with poisoning symptoms refused to be evacuated and remains on board, he has been given medical treatment on board. The ship was brought to Azerbaijan coastal waters, probably anchored, with rescue boats nearby, as of 1400 UTC Oct 19.
