LNG tanker attacked, probably boarded, Gulf of Guinea UPDATE

1300 UTC UPDATE: Ship’s ID confirmed, tanker reportedly, escaped attack by maneuvering and speed, crew are safe.

Cargo ship was attacked in Gulf of Guinea southwest of Port Harcourt at around 0530 UTC Dec 18, understood it’s an LNG tanker LNG LAGOS II, her track, positions and time coinciding with attack coordinates and time. She was probably boarded, judging from her track and timeline. As of 1030 UTC, she was steaming full ahead to her port of destination Bonny. Tanker is en route from Canary Islands. Ship’s ID to be confirmed, awaiting updates.
