Ferry VIKING GRACE with 331 passengers aground, Finland VIDEO UPDATE refloated

Nov 22 UPDATE: Refloated in the morning Nov 22, berthed at Marienham, left Marienham at 1115 UTC, bound for Turku Finland. All passengers remained on board, there was no need in evacuation. Understood the ship suffered no or slight damages.

Ferry VIKING GRACE ran aground just of Mariehamn, Aland islands, Finland, Baltic sea, while approaching Marienhamn on arrival from Stockholm, with 331 passengers on board. The ship looks like she was pushed aground portside, in strong gusty wind, at around 1200 UTC Nov 21. As of 1530 UTC Nov 21, VIKING GRACE was still aground, with understood, all passengers still on board – there’s no immediate danger to ship and to people, so probably, evacuation in stormy weather might be more risky than staying on board.
