Fire started on board of passenger ro-ro ferry FILIPINAS DINAGAT at around 2200 LT (UTC +8) Jul 23, when the ship was under way in Visayan sea north of Ceby City, Cebu Island, Philippines, en route from Ceby City to Palompon Leyte. Ferry in a short time was engulfed in flames, Captain ordered all on board to abandon the ship. All 47 people on board (understood crew and passengers) were rescued, no casualties, no injures reported. Burning ferry is understood to be drifting.
