Tanker fire, Singapore Strait UPDATE

Fire erupted on board of product tanker HOYU on Nov 7 near Horsburgh Lighthouse, eastern Singapore Strait. The ship woth cargo of oil products was en route from Singapore to Philippines. Fire according to MPA Singapore statement, was extinguished, crew evacuated. Last AIS received at around 0530 UTC Nov 7, when tanker was under way full speed near lighthouse.

Nov 8 Update: judging from photo published by channelnewsasia.com, fire broke out in superstructure, engulfing the bridge.

Product tanker HOYU, IMO 9511105, dwt 8925, built 2010, flag Panama, manager SAMPO UNYU CO LTD, Japan.
