Chile – Australia expedition VIRACOCHA III reed raft abandoned in South Pacific

Reed raft VIRACOCHA III on Jul 1 reported abandoned, adrift in vicinity 16 40S 148 25W, in French Polynesia waters, NE of Tahiti. VIRACOCHA III set sail from Chile, in an attempt to sail 10,000 nautical miles across the entire Pacific Ocean to Cairns, Australia, via Easter Island and other islands of Polynesia. The expedition goal is to demonstrate ancestral migration between the two continents.
