Russian freighter disabled, on tow in Barents sea

General cargo ship MARKUS suffered engine failure at 2300 Moscow time Dec 23 in Barents sea, 19 nm NE of Cape Tsypnavolok, Rybachy Peninsula, Russia, and requested assistance, because crew weren’t able to fix problem. SAR tug MURMANRYBA (IMO 7830868) took disabled freighter on tow at 0500 Moscow time Dec 24, to tow to Kolskiy Bay. Freighter was en route from Polyarnyy Russia to Stokmarknes Norway.
