Cargo ship capsized, sank in Black sea

General cargo ship FOM loaded with scrap issued distress signal at 0645 Moscow time Oct 13, reporting list 20 degress and increasing, danger of capsizing in Black sea some 50 nm off Sevastopol, Crimea, Ukraine. MRCC Russia, directed nearest ship, tanker MINERVA MARINA (IMO 9411939), to rescue crew. By the time tanker approached disaster site, 8 crew already went into life raft or rafts. They’ve been picked up by tanker, no injures reported. Status of FOM yet unknown, reportedly she sank. The ship was en route from Rostov Azov sea to Hereke Turkey.
