Bulgarian freighter disabled, under tow, Aegean sea

General cargo ship PHOENIX was disabled and started to drift in the morning Aug 3 in Aegean sea east of Andros island, Greece, while en route from Nikolayev Ukraine to Amsterdam Netherlands. Tug CHRISTOS XLI (IMO 8127919) was contracted, in the afternoon same day PHOENIX was taken on tow to be towed tp Piraeus. As of 1400 UTC Aug 4 caravan was approaching Piraeus. Understood the ship suffered mechanical failure.
