Disabled cargo ship on tow northwest of Las Palmas

Container ship KUBILAI KHAN suffered engine failure and started to drift at around 2300 UTC May 13 north of Las Palmas, Canary Islands, while en route from Las Palmas to Netherlands. The ship asked for assistance, SAR tug MIGUEL DE CERVANTES (IMO 9320116) was sent for towage. KUBILAI KHAN was taken to tow to be towed to Las Palmas at around 1030 UTC May 14, at 1400 UTC caravan was under way, approaching Las Palmas.
