Drilling ship hit, badly damaged German container ship, Canary Islands

Late at night Feb 28 drilling ship WEST TAURUS broke off her mooring in Santa Cruz de Tenerife Harbor during the passage of cyclone Emma, drifted and allided with berthed container ship SPICA. SPICA suffered hull breach underwater with ensuing water ingress, situation was taken under control by 0530 LT Mar 1, with breach being sealed and water pumped out. Drilling ship was taken to berth. According to information sent to MB by local source, WEST TAURUS broke bollard, SPICA sustained serious damage and was (is?) in critical condition.
