Freighter troubled in Med
General cargo ship DIANA is in trouble in Haifa Bay, Israel, since Jan 19. Local sources say DIANA ran aground and sustained steering damage, probably rudder. According to locals, after grounding disabled ship drifted around. According to AIS, DIANA is anchored – marked as “Anchored”, but according to her position, too close to shore, she’s aground. Most probably local sources got it all wrong – DIANA started to drift while being at anchor, and drifted aground in the afternoon Jan 19.
