Pertamina’s Aframax fire killed 5 and wounded 1, Batam

Pertamina’s Aframax GAMKONORA suffered fire, reportedly in a pump room, at around 1520 LT Sep 7, during maintenance works at Batam Ship Repair Yard, Batam, Indonesia, Singapore Strait. Five people died and one was seriously injured. Fire understood to be extinguished, authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, believed to be either open fire during wielding works, or shortcut.
