CHESHIRE banned from Canary Islands, under tow to Spain

Bulk carrier CHESHIRE is under tow, to be towed to mainland Spain port, probably to Huelva. RED SEA FOS is towing the vessel, escorted by SAR ship MIGUEL DE CERVANTES (IMO 932 0116), at some 3-4 knots speed. As of 1500 UTC Sep 3, caravan was abeam of Vecindario, east coast of Gran Canaria, ETA Huelva Sep 11.
Canary Islands refused port entry, explaining refusal by lack of waste treatment facilities – residue and what’s left of initial cargo have to be offloaded and disposed of.
Present condition of the vessel unknown.
